That is actually very valuable but I think it would be good to make that clear, since the site now looks different with perpendicular walls and flat roofs on the chambers

Comment on Museums, Cathedrals and Other Paris Sites

Hey, that was interesting,
It is the home of the Lady and the Unicorn tapestries, and 1st century Gallo-Roman thermal baths. Also displayed are the original sculpture heads of the Kings of Judea from Notre-Dame Cathedral, Paris. Many sculptures were mutilated and ripped from the cathedral during the French Revolution. These heads have been brought together by a series of extraordinary coincidences, particularly the discovery in 1977 of dozens of statues and fragments in the basement of a Parisian bank. These are the originals from the cathedral, which now displays reproductions.

Musée de l’Orangerie
Jardin des Tuileries 75001 Paris
Tel: 01 44 77 80 07
Website: http://en.parisinfo.com/museum-monuments/305/musee-de-l-orangerie

Museum contains a wonderful collection of the Impressionist painters, including Cézanne, Renoir, Picasso, Rousseau, Matisse, Derain, Modigliani, Soutine, Utrillo and Laurencin.

A circular room on the 2nd floor holds Monet’s “Water Lillies”, with seating in the center of the room so the viewer is taken into a wonderful contemplation and meditation of this work.

Musée de Monnaie de Paris
11, quai de Conti
75270 Paris
Tél : +33 (0)1.40.46.56.66
Website: http://www.monnaiedeparis.com/

This museum is the French Mint. It has fascinating displays showing how coinage was produced from the 1st century to the present day. The mint still produces coins, and special commemorative coins can be ordered from them.
